5 years away from programming, boy have things changed – Danny Does.
This article really strikes a chord with me. I have a love/hate relationship with staying up to date and current. On one hand you’re spending very valuable time simply tinkering around, researching, and reading about things that may not in fact be useful to you. Perhaps your time is better spent, you know, actually doing work. I get it, but at the same time the research and tinkering I do often comes back to help me in any number of ways, not just as a direct benefit. If I read about how a new tool gets a job done, I can sometimes abstract that to better jive with my workflow.
