Daily Dot | A Pinterest spammer tells all.
It’s amazing to read this account of how our talents can be used for (mind blowingly successful) spamming efforts. I can see why the spammer himself sees that he’s doing no harm, but my ethics radar is telling me different. He admits to being a flat out spammer, but justifies it by not spreading viruses or malware or anything like that. I get it, but you’re still spamming.
I’m not a Pinterest user so I’m not sure how prevalent this issue is, but it’s an interesting problem to think about solving. I’m well aware of the spam problems on Twitter, and I’m not sure of the methods put in place to reduce the spam load, but it’s a huge problem.
