Apache releases first major new version of popular Web server in six years | ZDNet.

I didn’t expect to see this headline. I have a special place in my heart for Apache, I think it was one of the biggest contributors to the Web we know and love today. While I’ve personally switched my servers to NGINX, Apache continues to have a big hold on a ton of the market.

The updates included in Apache HTTP Server 2.4 are nothing to overlook, either. Those servers that do get upgrade should see a boost in performance and stability. Additionally there are a number of higher level features that server admins will likely enjoy as well.

Really psyched to see this update!
