This is great insight into a design principle I totally agree with. It’s one of the main reasons I was so psyched when we could start using rgba() in our CSS; drop shadows would be so much more effective and applicable!
I like how elaborate the author is with his explanation as to why black should be avoided in design. The supporting arguments accomplish their task and enforce well the reasoning.
