Discovering Sketch

I’m not a designer but I use the tools of designers a lot. I spend a lot of my time in Photoshop exporting assets for projects and on top of that paying what feels like an unfair price to do it. It’s not that I don’t think it’s worth it, I’m just ready for something new. Luckily there’s a lot of action there, a number of projects aiming to build the tool we all want to use. It’s taken a long time and it’s going to take even longer, but Sketch has taken hold to a great degree, and for good reason.

Sketch UI

I’ve got a copy of Sketch for the same reasons I’ve got copies of a number of indie graphics programs aimed at Web design, and I’ve been keeping up with releases. I’m excited for it. The UI is awesome, it does a ton of stuff that saves me time, and it seems like those on the creative end (versus my extraction end) seem to like it too.
