This guy is way smarter than me, and also way younger. He’s worked on Cappuccino firsthand and is sick and tired of us still trying to solve the same problems again and again. I can’t say that I blame him. I find myself in seasons of wondering just why the heck it’s still taking me so long to get certain tasks completed on client projects. It feels like Web development should be decades beyond where it is now. I realize that I have absolutely no ground to stand on, but I do sympathize with Randy’s frustrations. I’m sure there are many super smart developers that found themselves on the same track as Randy; giving it a go on the Web only to have frustration lead them into desktop (or now: mobile) environments where they feel things can actually get done.
