If anything has totally turned my CSS-writing-life upside down it’s the strategy of writing styles in the most modular form you can. I’ve obsessed over it ever since reading SMACSS for the first time. I always struggled with the idea of OOCSS and how that translates to real life. Are there technical benefits to it, or is it only to benefit our sanity and maintenance factor on a project. I like to strive for a combination of both, but it turns out that’s wicked hard.
This piece is an interesting, albeit brain bending concept about element queries (versus media queries) that give you a more fine-grained control over the responsive nature of your modular CSS. Neat stuff.
