If I were a gambling man I’d wager that you’re probably a Sublime Text 2 user. In fact I might go so far as to say it’s probably running on your machine right now. If so, definitely have a look at this list of plugins for the app, it’s a great collection. While I don’t use all of them, a number of these have really turned Sublime into one of my favorite editors.
I go back and forth between text editor and IDE over the course of the year. There was a time when that would even include shifting between text editors and IDEs but thankfully I’ve settled on one of each. Sublime Text 2 and PhpStorm. If you’ve wanted to take a look at what I’ve found to be the most usable and performant (but still Java based) IDE, give PhpStorm a shot. The JetBrains team has worked some magic with that application.
