NGINX takes 2nd place in Web Servers from Microsoft IIS | ZDNet.
NGINX is seriously blowing up, and so it deserves. I moved all of our stuff to an NGINX-powered server about six months ago and haven’t looked back. At all. It’s seriously a stellar piece of software.
To hear that NGINX is now second only to Apache and has taken that seat away from Microsoft IIS is a serious testament to how fast it’s catching on. Not that IIS was a big contender out of the gate, but I think it outlines just how fast people are moving away from Apache.
I don’t have anything against Apache, I just prefer the more lightweight, performant NGINX for my purposes. If you’re interested in server admin and you haven’t checked out NGINX, definite put aside some time to do so, it’s awesome.
