LukeW | Data Monday: Physical Device & Viewport Sizes.
Very interesting account of the current landscape of tablet devices and how Apple’s iPad Mini stands out in the crowd. I’ve been thinking a lot about this stuff lately, as I’m sure we all have. I think we can all agree that responsive Web design is here to stay. I still feel like it’s in it’s infancy, but that’s part of what makes it so exciting. We’re seeing the foundation form for the Web that makes even more sense. Device and resolution agnostic documents that look great no matter where you’re viewing them. What makes things even more interesting is the hardware implementations we’re dealing with. Between mobile devices (both phones and tablets) and now computers with HiDPI displays, there’s a lot to juggle now and it sometimes feels overwhelming. Being viewport-size-agnostic is one thing, but being pixel density agnostic at the same time really makes you think.
