Ruby for PHP Developers | TutToaster.

As a PHP guy myself I really appreciate articles like this. I appreciate what Ruby and Ruby on Rails has done for the advancement of modern Web development, but it’s never had much gravity for me.

Don’t get me wrong, a ton more has worked for the advancement of modern Web development, but you can’t deny the large effect Ruby (on Rails) has had on many of the developers we know and respect.

I build the occasional Web application, but my roots are firmly grounded in building client websites powered by WordPress. I think that’s a major reason I haven’t had a calling to check out Ruby quite yet. It is really interesting, though, to see the little differences between PHP and Ruby. When I do get the itch to build something, I usually reach for CodeIgniter and enjoy every minute of it.

Hat tip to that motherfuton himself.
