Small teams beat large teams in software development | Atomic Spin.
While I’ve never worked on a “large team”, it didn’t take long for me to realize that smaller, more targeted teams felt much more productive. It’s not that large teams are incapable of producing, it just seemed like it took way too long given the manpower involved. It’s neat to see some actual numbers behind the data that support that feeling.
I don’t have hard numbers of my own, but I can say that in the first year of Iron to Iron we’ve built way more (i.e. three or four times more) than either of us have before.
