The Value of Time by Jack Groetzinger.
I’ve struggled with this concept for a long time. When I first discovered ‘billing by the hour’ I think it took a strange root in my mind. Everything became about hours, it was all a tradeoff because “I could be working” for those hours. That’s a really dangerous game to play when it overlaps into your personal life, but only to a certain extent. I see value in comparing day-to-day tasks to an hourly rate almost as much as I approach my work life. I see value in paying to have things done right and in turn save me the grief of going through it myself. On the other hand though, learning is good and if you don’t take the time to do it consistently you might miss out on some great things.
