Although the title references it, this article can be generalized to any task management application. It’s an oversaturated market, sure, but I really think an effective standardization of task management will help everyone on the face of the earth.
I’ve evaluated pretty much every to-do app under the sun but put the most effort into OmniFocus because it actually seemed to help me get things done. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s because they’ve embraced the GTD concept and run with it. They didn’t bend the rules or leave a piece out because it didn’t make sense right away for the sole sake of the application design. I’m not a GTD advocate per-se, heck I haven’t even finished the book yet, but the system put in place with OmniFocus truly does help me get things accomplished in the most organized way I know how.
As far as what actually gets me to look at it all the time? The ‘due soon’ badge; it drives me nuts.
