Why relative URLs should be forbidden for web developers
Relative URLs can be a blessing and a curse when thinking about them from a development perspective. As Yoast outlines, the primary reason I’d love to use relative URLs all the time is to selfishly make my life easier when it comes to migrating a website from dev to staging or staging to production. That’s pure laziness speaking though. The cons far outweigh the pros when it comes to everyone else in the world, and it’s worth checking out the argument Yoast has put together on the subject.
