Yahoo! Axis – A new way to search and browse.
You’ve likely by now heard about another new browser on the market, Yahoo! Axis. The mob has responded as has become de facto with Yahoo! and who can blame them, really. I’m not exactly sure what the end goal here is.
Intention and marketing aside, I’m curious about the underpinnings of the browser. All of the information is super ambiguous but I think we can safely assume it’s powered by WebKit, but I haven’t found that clearly stated yet. Can anyone confirm or deny?

According to several sites it does use WebKit – http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/23/3039842/yahoo-launches-axis-web-browser-plug-in

Seems to me that it’s not really a browser so much as a browser extension. Whew! I’m really just guessing here but the iOS apps are probably just simple UIWebView applications. The real feature here (IMO) is its ability to sync your current page between multiple browsers and devices. The real intention though is probably to steal some searches back from Google.
